Navigating OpsLyft
The sidebar, Ask Iris, the command palette, lenses, notifications, and the profile menu.
The sidebar
The collapsible sidebar on the left holds every module. Hover it to expand the labels.
| Section | Pages |
|---|---|
| Observe | Iris home, Cost Explorer, Canvas |
| Atlas | Inventory, History, Optimisation |
| Monitor | Anomalies, Budgets & alerts |
| Tickets | Tickets, Integrations |
| Datasets | Datasets |
At the bottom of the sidebar are Notifications and your profile menu.
What changed markers
Items that are new or moved since OpsLyft v1 carry a NEW or MOVED badge and a dot. Select the dot to see a short What changed note. See Migrating from v1.
Ask Iris (⌘K)
Press ⌘ K (Ctrl K on Windows) or select Ask Iris at the top right of any page. The palette knows where you are: it shows Context chips for the current page, such as Explorer · All clouds · By Provider · Amortized · Aug 26 – Sep 24.
Suggestions come in four kinds:
| Kind | What it does | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Answer | Answers a question about what's on the page. | Why did AWS spike on Sep 1? |
| Filter | Changes the page's filters. | Only AWS by service, last 7 days |
| Do | Performs an action. | Save this view to Finance_Monthly_Dump |
| Go | Jumps to another page. | Go to Anomalies |
The Jump to list takes you to Iris home, Live inventory, Optimisation, and Tickets.
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| ↑ ↓ | Choose a suggestion |
| ↵ | Run it |
| ⌘ ↵ | Continue as a chat on this page |
| Esc | Close |
Actions always ask before they run. Iris never changes a filter, saves a view, or opens a ticket without showing you what it's about to do.
Ask bars on each page
Atlas, Monitor, and Tickets pages have their own Ask bar above the table. Type a slice in plain English, such as running EC2 in prod-payments older than 90 d without an owner tag, and select Apply. Iris turns it into filters you can see and edit.
Lenses
The Lens menu at the top of Cost Explorer and canvases sets the default drill-down hierarchy: Finance, Engineering, or CXO. Select Manage lenses to create your own or duplicate a built-in one. See Lenses.
Notifications
Select Notifications in the sidebar to open the notification center.
- Tabs: All, Alerts, and Updates.
- Unread only hides what you've seen. Mark all read clears the badge.
- Each notification carries its source, such as System health, Budgets & forecast, or Tickets & SLAs, and inline actions like Investigate, Snooze 3 days, or Update scopes.
- Preferences opens your notification settings.
Profile menu
Select your name at the bottom of the sidebar for Profile, Settings, and Support, the Appearance switch (Light, Dark, or System), and Sign out. A dot next to Settings means something there needs attention. See Needs attention.
Data freshness indicators
Pages show where their data comes from and how current it is, for example Inventory · polled 30 h ago, Billing through Sep 25, or a green LIVE dot in Cost Explorer. The clouds picker shows each provider's state (live or 71h behind). See Data freshness.
