Iris
Ask questions about your spend in plain English, or describe a dashboard and Iris builds it.
Iris is the OpsLyft assistant and your home page. It reads the same cost warehouse as Cost Explorer, so its numbers match everything else in the app, and it cites what it used.
The Iris home page
Open Observe in the sidebar to reach Iris home. From top to bottom it shows:
A greeting with the headline
A one-line summary of your estate, such as The last 30 days cost $2.32M across 5 clouds, with AWS at $1.27M. The Sep 1 spike was the biggest day of the month.
The Iris composer
Two modes: Ask a question starts a chat, and Build a canvas creates a canvas. Pick an answer depth of Low, Med, or High. Suggested prompts sit underneath.
The attention banner
The most urgent finding from Monitor, for example Claude Enterprise started costing +$7.1K/day on Aug 7 and nobody owns it. Select Investigate in Iris to open a chat about it, or Open in Anomalies to see it in Monitor.
Your library
Tabs for Canvases and Chats. Either can be the default when Iris opens: select Iris opens on Canvases or Open Iris on Chats by default.

Iris and FinOps Copilot
FinOps Copilot is the Iris chat panel inside Cost Explorer. It reads the same warehouse Explorer reads and cites what it used. See FinOps Copilot.
How Iris handles your data
- Iris answers from your OpsLyft warehouse. It states the date range, currency, and data freshness it used.
- It flags when recent data is incomplete, for example days inside the usual 48-hour billing lag.
- It won't run an action (save a view, change a filter, open a ticket) without asking first.
- You can turn Iris off for a single canvas from the canvas menu.
