Azure
Connect Azure by signing in with Microsoft and granting Cost Management Reader on your billing scope.
OpsLyft connects to Azure through Cost Management. You sign in with Microsoft, pick your billing account, and OpsLyft requests Cost Management Reader on it. It takes about four minutes.
Before you begin
- You need a Billing Account Reader (or higher) role on the billing account you want to connect.
- Connecting at the billing account scope brings in every subscription under it.
Read-only
OpsLyft can see billing and usage data. It can't change, stop, or delete anything in your account.
Connect Azure
Choose Azure
In onboarding, or from Settings → Integrations, choose Azure.
Sign in with Microsoft
Select Sign in with Microsoft and choose your billing account.
Approve the access request
OpsLyft requests Cost Management Reader on the billing account. Approve it.
Wait for exports to start
Exports start within the hour. The first full month can take up to a day to fill in.
Cost types
Azure provides Amortized and Net cost in OpsLyft. There's no separate Billed type for Azure. See Cost types.
Data freshness
Azure Cost Management data is usually 8–24 hours behind, and can be further behind around month-end. The clouds picker shows how far behind Azure is, such as 71h behind. See Data freshness.
Reporting dimensions
Azure adds dimensions such as subscription, resource group, meter category, meter, region, resource ID, and every resource tag.
Troubleshooting
You need Billing Account Reader or higher on it. Ask your Azure billing administrator to grant it, or send them the join link.
You may have connected at a subscription or management group scope. Connect at the billing account scope to see every subscription.
